Decaf Without Compromise

I’ll be the first to admit it, two decafs isn’t a lot. But if you know anything about coffee, you’ll know that finding genuinely good decaf is hard work. Most of them taste like someone left a teabag in an ashtray. And I won’t just list any old decaf for the sake of bulking out the range.

These two? They made the cut.

The Milk Chocolate & Caramel Decaf Honduras is a Swiss Water decaf, which means no chemicals, just a clever method that keeps most of the flavour while removing 99.9% of the caffeine. It’s smooth, chocolatey, and genuinely tasty. In fact, it's so good that I regularly get emails from customers telling me their friends & family wouldn't believe it was a decaf!

Then there’s the Milk Chocolate & Coconut Decaf Brazil, a bold dark roast that surprised me with how balanced and easy-drinking it is. Don’t be put off by the coconut note, it’s super subtle.

If you’re after proper-tasting coffee without the jitters, give one (or both) a go. And rest assured: I’m tasting my way through heaps of new options, I’ll only add more if they pass the Kev test.

Decaf Coffee Beans & Ground FAQs

Q: What is decaf coffee?

A: Decaf coffee is coffee that’s had most of its caffeine removed, usually around 97–99.9%. It’s still real coffee, just without the buzz. Different methods are used to remove the caffeine, and I choose decafs that keep as much flavour as possible.

Q: Does decaf coffee have caffeine?

A: Yes, just a tiny amount. Most decaf coffees still contain about 0.1–3% of the original caffeine content. So while it won’t keep you up at night, it’s not 100% caffeine-free.

Q: What’s the difference between Swiss Water and MC decaf?

A: Swiss Water uses only water, temperature and osmosis — no chemicals. MC (methylene chloride) is a safe solvent-based method used in a lot of decafs. Both are effective, but I only use them if the end result tastes great.

Q: Can I use these decafs for espresso?

A: Absolutely. Both options are great for espresso, filter, cafetiere or Aeropress,  just pick your grind size or grab whole coffee beans and grind fresh at home.
